The onset of spring and summer calls for one of my favorite looks: barely there makeup that gives you a flush of color without trying too hard. One of my secret weapons? Lip and cheek stain, which I love because it’s so multifunctional and can create a very natural look.
Of course, there are tons of these on the market to experiment with, but did …Read more »
Calling all fans of Victoria’s Secret beauty and body product lines. The brand recently introduced two new limited edition products for spring: the Perfect Body Luminous Lotion, and the VS Fantasies Perfect Body Luminous Lotion. Let’s take a look at what these have to offer.
The Perfect Body Luminous Lotion, which is $25 for 8.4 ounces and available at VS stores and online, comes in …Read more »
Betsey Johnson has designed a really bright hot pink nail lacquer for spring, with a fun factor that isn’t limited just to its shade — it’s scented, too!
I’m talking about the Sephora by OPI Betsey Johnson Too Too Scented Nail Colour, which couldn’t get any closer to the feminine, playful edge that the Betsey Johnson brand injects into pretty much everything it touches.…Read more »
While I like the concept of all the facial cleansing “systems” on the market these days, which offer a highly specific regimen and multiple end results, sometimes they can be a little … much. Too many options, too many formulas, too many steps, too many dollar signs. In the end, I just want a product that makes my face look and feel as clean as …Read more »
When heading to the gym, I always pack some beauty products for pulling myself together post-workout. Who likes hauling her entire makeup cabinet with them to the gym? Not me … which is why I only keep what I consider to be the essentials in my gym bag. And while the products themselves have a tendency to rotate in and out of commission, here are …Read more »
My latest impulse beauty buy was the Supernova Mascara by Fresh. I blame it on all the hype on the box about the formula’s nourishing and conditioning properties.
Everything to do with my eyes is sensitive. I wear contact lenses and certain moisturizers and shadows give the skin around my eyes a rash. If my lashes come in contact with a mascara they don’t like, …Read more »
A friend recently gifted me Redken Nature’s Rescue Refining Sea Polish. Well, not “gifted” so much as pawned off, since she later confessed she wasn’t a huge fan of the product. She said it was “abrasive.”
I can understand her complaint. Well, kind of. The instructions call for smoothing the polish onto your hair from the root down to the tip, during which the product’s …Read more »
Until recently, I used smudgier eyeliners far more regularly than liquid eyeliners. Lately, it’s been Cover Girl’s Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Eyeliner. I like the more natural, casual looks cream liners can create, which has made them my go-to eyeliners for everyday wear the past few years, and I’ve limited my use of liquid liner to big events and more formal looks.
But while I love …Read more »
I’m a big fan of mixing and blending blush colors in order to find that “just right” shade. Plus, I think the color can often look more natural that way, since skin rarely flushes in a single shade, right?
But lately I haven’t had the time (or haven’t wanted to make time) for careful color selection and blending — I’ve been lucky just to get …Read more »
Here’s a multiple choice question. During the holidays, you tend to: A) stay up later than usual, B) allow yourself to indulge in food and drink, C) wear more makeup than other months, or D) all of the above. My answer’s D, how about yours?
With the festivities all wrapped up, I always feel the need for some post-holiday detoxification. Here are two of my …Read more »
