Last month, Pantone announced that the 2013 color of the year would be Emerald, and I couldn’t have been more excited because it’s one of my favorite colors to wear. I’ve been meaning to write this post for a few weeks now, but just haven’t had a lot of time lately between work and Theme Alchemy, a new site I’m starting to sell premium WordPress …Read more »
Has anyone else ever noticed the huge collection of Mirage nail polishes available at most nail salons? I’ve always been tempted by them but never really took the plunge since I usually bring in my own colors. I know some people find that odd, but when you have a nail polish collection as big as mine … you have to find ways to use them …Read more »
A few days before I absolutely destroyed my nails, I purchased this nail polish from Rite Aid. I was randomly perusing through the make-up aisles (dangerous, I know) and came across the CQ nail polish line. It featured some really gorgeous, muted, darker pastel shades ideal for darker skin tones for around $2 a pop.
I originally grabbed about 4 of these, but got the …Read more »
Matte nail polish has always been something I’ve loved and appreciated — just not on me. Matte nail polishes have a wonderful way of accentuating every little imperfection on your nail’s surface. As beautiful as the finished product has always looked on other people’s nails, I’ve always shied away from it.
I have this nasty little habit of picking off my nail polish a …Read more »
As I mentioned in my previous post about my new Egon Schiele Plum Envy Eyeshadow, muted lavender is my absolute favorite color – it’s pretty much everywhere in my home and wardrobe. One of the few products I actually purchased at The Makeup Show NYC, rather than received as a gift, was this Nail Polish Pen from LAQA in their own lavender shade called …Read more »
Every time I do a gradient manicure I’m always convinced that it’s my absolute favorite. I love the way they look especially when paired with my favorite color: black.
Black has always been that, “I wish I could” nail lacquer for me. While I love it as an all over color, it has a tendency to make my nails look short and fingers look stubby. …Read more »
You’d think I’d have run out of Wet N Wild nail polishes to review and rave about what with the 13 that I own, right? I’ve been on a strict budget lately since I’ve been trying to save up for IMATS. God only knows what kind of damage I’ll do to my wallet those two days … so I decided to revisit some of the …Read more »
“What? You’re just NOW posting swatches of a Hunger Games nail polish?” Yes, yes. I know. Shame on me. One of the biggest problems of being a compulsive nail polish buyer is that you never have enough time (or nails) to try them all out. If I could, I’d wear at least 3 at one time. Maybe then I’d give each color their share of …Read more »
With my love for OPI’s Fly, gradient manicures, and glitter, it was only a matter of time till this NOTD happened. I absolutely love how this turned out and couldn’t be happier with my color choices. I’ve struggled with finding good color combinations in the past, but the success of this look kinda makes me feel like I’m finally getting the hang of it. I’ve …Read more »
When the OPI Shatter first came out I became obsessed with it and began using it every week or whenever I would chip my nail polish. I also am a picker and often pick my nail polish off so I would literally be doing my nails every week. After a few weeks of doing this I noticed that my nails began to yellow. I had …Read more »
